Korean skin care

Korean skincare and cosmetics have gained popularity worldwide and are known for their innovative formulations, advanced techniques and impressive results. Compared to other approaches, they have several unique features.

A key feature is the comprehensive skincare routine. Rather than focusing on individual products such as cleansers or moisturizers, Korean skincare involves a ten-step routine: cleansing, toning, treating and moisturizing. This approach allows you to specifically address the skin's needs and promote healthy and radiant skin.

The ten steps of the Korean skin care routine are:

  1. Oil-based cleansing: Skin care begins with the thorough removal of makeup and dirt. Special cleansing oils or balms are often used for this.
  2. Water-based cleansing: This is followed by cleansing the skin with a gentle cleansing foam or cleansing lotion.
  3. Exfoliation: Exfoliation is used once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells and smooth the skin. This can be a mechanical peeling with exfoliating grains or a chemical peeling with AHA or BHA acids.
  4. Facial toner: After cleansing, the skin is balanced with a toner. This step helps to regulate the skin's pH value and prepare the skin for subsequent care.
  5. Sheet mask (optional): A sheet mask can be used for additional care and moisture.
  6. Essence: Essences contain highly concentrated active ingredients and are tailored to the individual needs of the skin. They have a targeted effect on problem areas such as wrinkles, pigment spots or acne.
  7. Serum: Serums provide intensive care and are specially formulated to penetrate deeper into the skin and treat specific skin problems.
  8. Eye care: The delicate skin around the eyes requires special care. Eye creams or gels help reduce fine lines, dark circles and puffiness.
  9. Moisturizer: Moisturizers or gels provide moisture to the skin and protect it from drying out. The choice of product depends on the skin type.
  10. Sun care: Protection from UV rays is essential. Every morning, apply sunscreen with a high sun protection factor to protect the skin from premature aging and pigment spots.

Optionally:

  • Night mask: As an additional step, a night mask can be used in the evening to intensively care for and regenerate the skin overnight.
  • Lip care: Lip care products moisturize and protect the lips from dryness and cracking, keeping them supple.

Korean skin care products often contain innovative ingredients such as fermented extracts, ginseng, centella asiatica and hyaluronic acid. These are known for their antioxidant, moisturizing and skin-soothing properties. In addition, many products are formulated to be lighter and more moisturizing, which is particularly beneficial for oily or sensitive skin. They absorb quickly and leave a pleasant feeling on the skin.

Korean cosmetic products offer a wide range of options for different skin types and needs, regardless of ethnicity. Although they are not suitable for everyone, they can promote healthy and radiant skin.

The holistic approach, innovative formulations, highly effective ingredients and pleasant texture make Korean cosmetic products an attractive choice for effective and pleasant skin care solutions.
